Lil' Madam's New Room

  Yesterday Lil' Madam decided that she would change rooms into the bigger room with the bigger bed. But that room was my room, so I barfed in Lil' Madam's room to tell her that this was my room, not hers. Ma Madam had to clean up my barf and it smelled. She sprayed some deodorizer stuff on it and she made it smell even worse. Lil' Madam is in a writing camp this week. 

  I thought the barf smelled better without the deodorizer. So Lil' Madam had to stay out of her room for one night. That night Lil' Madam was able to go to a sleepover because Ma Madam had to go get food for the potluck for the writing camp. After the writing camp, Lil' Madam and Ma Madam moved Lil' Madam's room to the bigger one. She even got new bed sheets!

 I decided to try out the bed. I took a short one hour nap on it and I approved of it. I really like her new sheets. They are green and striped. The bed is much bigger so I didn't have to worry about rolling on the bed and falling of. So here are pictures of me liking the new bed sheets and trying them out.

Good Bye Garfield!

So after resting up for a day after his surgery, Garfield, formerly known as Cheddar, is ready to go back to his home - the outside (because Garfield is a homeless cat!).  Here, Ma Madam set up Garfield for his release. I say goodbye to him from the inside.  

I would love to have a brother but I understand it is better for Cheddar, I mean Garfield, to go back to where he was living before we trapped him.  To us, he may be a homeless cat. But to him, all the world is his home.

Good-Bye Garfield.  Wish you luck and the best.  Please come visit when you are in the neighborhood.

Surprise - It's a Boy!!

Hello:

I am sure you have all been waiting anxiously for an update on Ginger the Homeless Cat.

Well, Ginger is Ginger no more - turns out Ginger is a boy!!!!  

So what should we call him now?  Giovanni? Gerald?  Lil' Madam decided to call him Cheddar since he is a handsome orange tabby.

Cheddar is a brave soul.  He did really well at the surgery.  Last night and today, he rested and recovered quietly and calmly in his trap.  He ate and licked his plate clean.

Now he is just waiting for the right time for the Humans to release him back to his home.  Ma Madam said about dinner time tonight.

I know it is tough for Cheddar now to be all cooped up in that little trap.  I hope Cheddar understands that he will soon be able to run free again, and enjoy many adventures in the outside world.

And if he ever needs food and water, he can always come back to our backyard. I would be happy to share my food with him.

And we will always recognize Cheddar because the doctor at the vet clinic trimmed his ear!!! So we can always tell Cheddar from the other orange tabby out there.

Ginger the Homeless Cat

Hello all:

I am a house cat which means I have a home.

But do you know there are a lot of cats without homes - they are called Homeless Cats. Some people call them Feral but all that means is they are cats without a home and mommies to care for them.

Well, my Madams and their friend Ms. B have found such a homeless cat.  She came by our house too but she mostly have been hanging out in Ms. B's backyard.

My Madams and Ms. B learned that the most "humane" way to take care of a homeless cat is to trap it, neuter it, and then return it to her home - the outside (which I don't get to go)!!!

So here she is - Ms. B was able to lure this beautiful homeless cat into the trap.  We call her Ginger and she is now resting comfortably in our garage.  But I am not allowed to visit with her myself, something about possible contagious disease.

I wish I can visit with Ginger so I can tell her that everything is going to be okay, that Ma Madam and Ms. B will take her to the vet tomorrow and she will be all taken care of and that Ma Madam and Lil' Madam will take care of her when she recovers from her surgery.  I wish I can tell Ginger myself that she will be out and about in no time and enjoying the outside again.

But all I get to do is see pictures of Ginger that Ma Madam took.

Everyone: please send positive thoughts to Ginger the Homeless Cat for a successful surgery and comfortable recovery.

My "Frenemy"

 First of all I hope all of your know what a "frenemy" is, and if you don't, it is a friend and an enemy put together in one. Yesterday Lil' Madam had a friend over for a sleepover. She wasn't exactly my favorite person, I tried to stay away from her. So I tried my karate skills on her.

To keep her away I would bare my teeth at her, punch, and attack(Ed. Note: hiss, paw, and bite). Fortunately, she stayed away from me. Unfortunately, she would keep coming back to pet me. So I tried to keep her away from me, but she would keep coming back!!

 These are a just a few pictures of me trying out my karate skills on Lil' Madam's friend(in my case frenemy).

Lil' Madam's "friend" would sometimes trap me in a box. It was not fun. So I really did not like her from then on.

This morning they went to the Humane Society of Silicon Valley(HSSV). They saw many adorable dogs and kitties(why didn't they take any pictures of the kitties?).

Lil' Madam's friend was holding puppies, and she said they were as cute as me!! Lil' Madam was holding puppies as well!! I was like, "Hello? I am the cute one here!!" But I have to admit, the little puppies and kitties were very cute. They were still not as cute as me though!! After that though, I have to say: I officially do not like that frenemy and Lil' Madam likes puppies more than me. But when Lil' Madam came home after, she said I was still the cutest kitty in the world(which I am).

In Tahoe with Some New Friends

 I just got back from Tahoe and I met a friend, well two actually. One of them is human and the other is an animal. I think the humans name is Katherine. I will tell you about the other one later. I was home a lot this time in Tahoe.

Lil' Madam and her friend went to the pool, a lot!! They would spend four hours there and then come back with pruned toes and fingers. But the weird thing was that they used goggles and tube things that were attached to it, to breathe(Ed. Note: snorkel). They looked pretty funny to me.



Lil' Madam, Ma Madam and Katherine mainly came up here to see the fireworks for Fourth of July. These are a few of them.

 Now I will tell a little bit about my other friend, an animal. I think the girls called it "Freddy McFredster the Frog", which is a really weird name. It definitely was a frog though. Lil' Madam and her friend thought Freddy was really cute. Well, I think he looks fun to chase around the house. So here I am staring at Freddy wanting him to come out. 

 Here is a separate picture of Freddy without me staring at it. I personally think that Freddy should run wild...in the house, of course, so I can chase it.

Lil' Madam and Katherine went rafting. They had to wear life jackets, so they weren't very happy with that. But they said the ride was very scary because they kept crashing and getting stuck on things. So they said they were quite thankful they wore the lifejackets. They still wanted to forget about the ride. I wonder if I would like to go on the ride?

Well, they had to let Freddy go because they couldn't keep the frog. So...here is a picture of the girls letting Freddy go, and me getting my personal job back as the cute and adorable house animal.

That was the Fourth of July week spent in Tahoe.

Hawaii Here I Go!!

Hello everyone:  as I told you before, my Humans are going on "vacation" to Hawaii and they were going to leave me at home.  But you know, I am so cute and they really don't want to leave me.

So today, they said I can go with them!!! Yeah!!! I ask if I will be going First Class.  But they say No, I will go "Priority Mail" instead.  I don't know if "Priority Mail" is equivalent to First Class.  But I guess I will comply - anything so that I don't have to leave my Humans.

Here, Lil' Madam said I have to get acquainted with my "Priority Mail" travel....can you see, I fit perfectly in my seat!!!

Lil' Madam left my seat out so I can get comfortably with it.  She is really thoughtful.  But getting acquainted is really not necessary as I usually like anything in the shape of a rectangular prism.

It is such a comfortable seat. I think I can sleep the whole way over to Hawaii!!!!

An Important Anouncment

    Tomorrow is a celestial event you do not want to miss. It is called the Transit of Venus. The Transit of Venus is when Venus passes directly in between the Sun and the Earth. Venus is very far away from Earth. So this means that Venus is just a small dot. Astronomers, like me, do not call it a solar eclipse because it does not cover the whole Sun. This amazing sight to see only occurs twice about every hundred years. But you can not always see it from the Earth. If you miss this transit tomorrow, you won't see it again until 105 years later any where on Earth, if anybody lives to be that old. 

    As everybody should know, you should not look at the Sun directly because it will make you go blind. So, instead of blinding my eyes, I bought some spiffy new solar glasses which block out 99.9999% of the Sun's solar rays. Which means, I can look directly at the Sun, without going blind! If you were wondering where I got my spiffy glasses, I got them at the Tech Museum for $2.99. Since they were sooo awesome, I got four of them. Now all my kitty friends can see it too!  Oh, I almost forgot to mention the most important thing, it is from around 3PM - around 8PM. Well, I hope all my followers out there can see the Transit of Venus tomorrow.

I'm a fruit!

For the past few days, you must be wondering what I have been doing. I have now learned that I can jump onto the counter. I have been wondering what was up there. When I jumped up there, I found many interesting things. I found a bowl for fruit, a purple tray, and a thing that spins (Ed. Note: a thing that spins = blender). My favorite was the bowl for fruit.
So, I decided to be a fruit. As you can see...

After my adventure with fruits yesterday, I traveled up to Tahoe and I slept the whole ride. My tummy started to grumble half way through the trip. So I meowed and, amazingly, 'Lil Madam gave me a few nibbles of cat food. When we got to Tahoe, it was surprisingly hot outside, and that meant no snow!

Our condo is soooo nice! In Tahoe I also jumped onto the counter. And guess what I found! I found another fruit platter, but this time, with fruits on it! It was awesome. So I decided to be a fruit. I wasn't sure what kind of fruit, so I was a cattfruit (Ed. Note: cattfruit = grape fruit). 

I really like fruits now, not for eating but for being one. Ma Madam said she is going to the supermarket soon. I wonder if she will buy more fruits for me to look like?

They did it to me AGAIN!!!

Hello there:  I have a grievance to file this evening.   Ma Madam did it to me again.  

This is what happened.  I was minding my own business. Then I hear the familiar click and pop sound which I immediately associated with opening of a can of my wet food.

So I abandoned what I was doing and immediately dashed for Ma Madam figuring that she was preparing my meal for me.  

But what a let down - it was a can alright but not my wet food.  Ma Madam let me sniff the can again so I can be sure it has none of my food in it.  

What a disappointment.  But no worry, I bugged Ma Madam until she gave me some wet food even though I already had my feeding today.  She can't be popping cans if she has no plan to feed me!

And eating always makes me feel sleepy and so I have to go off to my nap after yet another delicious meal.

Tigger Astromoner

Howdy all - Today is a really special day.  Do you know about the very rare Annular Solar Eclipse that took place in my neighborhood (western California) just an hour ago now?  It's not a total solar eclipse but about 89%.  Here I was, observing the Solar Eclipse myself to make sure it was real.  Can't trust the Humans.  They may not know what they are talking about.

And here's a picture of the Sun at the peak of the Eclipse - around 6:33pm this evening.  

So now I can certify it - indeed there was a Solar Eclipse today!

Tigger Sad

Hello All:

I am still around.  Don't worry.

I am just a little sad.  Because my Humans told me that in a month they will have to go away for 2 weeks and leave me at home all by myself.  I am quite sad about that.

I love my Humans and don't want them to leave me.  Plus I have no idea how long 2 weeks is - I mean 2 weeks could be a really really long time for a cat - it just sounded awful.

So I am just sitting by myself in my corner to sulk.

But I haven't been just sitting around.  I have been enjoying the warm weathers because I got to have the window in my room open.  Ma Madam said I can get some fresh air but all I really wanted are the little birds chirping outside.  That day, there must have been a whole school of birds - they were so loud and probably didn't know I have my eyes on them.  I could have caught one if I want to. Not too difficult as I have been working on my hunting skills.  But Ma Madam said be nice to them and let the little birds alone.

Then, finally, I figured out I can jump onto the "other" counter.  I used to only jump onto the island but now I can jump onto the other side of the counter and check out all the goodies that Ma Madam have been hiding from me.

Meanwhile, I decided to dry myself up a little in the drying tray - I didn't even know Ma Madam has gotten a drying tray just for me all this time!!!!

Ciao and good nite.  I am going back to sulking about my impending isolation.  I feel so lonely already and my Humans are not even gone yet.

I love sitting on laptop computers.  I don't really know why but I just love the feel of a modern computer keyboard.

I tried sitting on Ma Madam's computer keyboard a lot.  But she is getting really annoyed.  She kept complaining something about cat hair.  I don't know what her problem is - I am a cat and I have hair!  What's the big deal about that!

So Ma Madam rarely let me sit on her laptop computer.

But just now, Lil' Madam left her computer open and she went to take a shower.  What luck for me!!!!!

But I must not get caught by Ma Madam or else she will chase me off this computer - you all have to keep quiet about this!!!

Happy Birthday to Brother Paul

Hello Everyone:

Today is a very special day.  Today is one of my followers' Birthday!!!  Just so you know, Brother Paul Jose is a very important person because on his birthday, there are city-wide celebrations.  All the people in the San Jose city come out to celebrate his birthday.  They have parties on the streets, they honk when they drive, they wave their flags.  Brother Paul Jose's birthday is a huge celebration for everyone.

And Brother Paul Jose is such an honorary figure that even all the police come out on his birthday.  The police parade their patrol cars and their motorcycles in the streets of downtown San Jose. It was such as show of grandeur!  It makes me feel very special to have such a special person as follower of my blog.

Ma Madam told me even last night, there were 100+ police setting up the parade already - and the police ran out of patrol cars and motorcycles they have to ride their bicycles!!!

Well, I am just a house cat and so I cannot participate in any of the city-wide celebration for my follower.

So here I made a little cake for him, I decorated it.  I hope you like it, Brother Paul Jose.

Tigger and Me!!!

Hello there.  I know you have not heard from me in a while.

I was a little under the weather.  Did not feel well for a week. Finally, I threw up what I had in my stomach that was brothering me and I am ALLLLL  BETTER!!!!

This past weekend was really hot.  I did not get to make my weather report. I hope you all survived the heat.  Because of the heat, I decided to stay in all weekend........well, that and the fact that I am a house cat.

However, my Humans were quite busy and they were gone most of the time.  So they left me with my new friend - Guess what his name is?

Yes, yes, you guessed it right - his name is Tigger too!!!

What do you know - another cat with the same name!!! What luck!!!!

Tigger and I got along really well.  He was nice to me and I was nice to him.

It's nice to have good company, particularly when they have the same name as you.

My Three RRRs

Today is Earth Day and everyone, including my paw friend Noodles, is talking about the three RRRs.

Well, let me show you what RRRs mean to a house cat:

Yes, you are not mistaken.  This is me getting my favorite chin scratch.  Ma Madam gives really good chin scratch and they are RRRRRRR good.  Have you ever seen a cat so content?  Life is good!

Tigger's Weather Report

I was enjoying my daily beauty sleep when the loud noise woke me up and I saw the hails coming down!!

My weather forecast said it would be sunnier this weekend.

So you all just hang in tight.  You will get to go outside a little this weekend and not stuck home all day long like a House Cat!

Tigger the Math Tutor

To further my contribution to the Human family, tonight I tutored Lil' Madam on her Math homework.

Turns out Lil' Madam is learning about "Box and Whisker" plot which of course is my specialty!!! I know a lot about Whiskers - lots more than anyone in this family I bet.

Do you know what a "Box and Whisker" plot is? If not, give me a call and I can tutor you too.

Then, Ma Madam distracted me.

You see, I have very good hearing. I heard can opening sound and I figured must be my wet food again....so I hop on over there but there was no wet food for me.

Ma Madam mumbled something about "It's not always about you.  Not everything is about you."

I didn't really know what that meant.  But I got the idea when she let me sniff the can - No, it's definitely NOT my wet food.  It didn't even smell like meat.  Yuck!!!

Then I tried to charm Ma Madam into giving me some wet food with my usual sweet "GIVE ME FOOD NOW" look.

But it did not work.  Ma Madam sent me to my dry food.

Well, she surely did not appreciate all of the math tutoring I gave Lil' Madam tonight.

Another Scratching Toy and Ma Madam is Mad

I don't know why Ma Madam has to keep buying things for me to scratch.  I am a House Cat and all I need is scratch her furniture.  I don't need anything "special" to scratch on.

But Ma Madam keeps getting ideas.  She got me all kinds of scratching toys but I never use them. I don't care for them.

Here she goes again - she just got me this "Double Wide" Cat Scratcher.  It's supposed to be Double the Fun!!! Whatever.

But it's futile.  I don't like it and I won't scratch it.

Ma Madam tries all sorts of ways to lure me to the scratcher.  Here, she kept putting my favorite feather toy on the scratcher, thinking that I would get on it.

But I am not easily tricked.  I hope Ma Madam found the scratcher entertaining because I don't.



And by the way, I found the "piano" - finally!  Ma Madam was not amused.  She was so mad I jumped on the piano.  So now she has to cover the piano and I can only jump on the bench.  It's a really nice piano and Lil' Madam makes beautiful music on it.  But I don't see why Lil' Madam can't share her toy with me.

A Familiar Smell

Well a few days ago I was sitting in the car inside a crate for 4 and 1/2 hours. It was soooo boring. But now look at me. I am at this place that has fluffy white stuff and is cold. This place seemed quite familiar but it was only faintly in my head. Oh well I will get used to it.

Speaking of getting used to things, I am never going to get used to looking at the white stuff falling from the sky. It looks very fun to play with. I am looking through the window at the white stuff not falling from the sky but on the ground.

Well, when I first got to Tahoe I wasn't too familiar with the place so I made and mess with my box of sand(Ed Note: the litter box)and kicked up all of the sand out. Ma Madam and Lil' Madam weren't very happy so they went out to buy a box that had a cover on it. They spent a lot on it, but it still had lots of other things. Like a thing to scoop up my #1s and #2s, a filter so it wouldn't stink up the whole house, and I got a toy. I don't like the toy because it is a little big and chunky. But it seems that Lil' Madam is very fond of it and wants it. She can have it all she wants.

So when they came home after getting the extra box, they were going to fill it up with the sand(litter). I thought "why do you need to get another box of sand, I don't see any reason at all". After they get the new box, I am quite familiar with the place so there is no need to buy a new one. I wasn't kicking up the sand.

So Ma Madam was a little ticked about the box but now she is happy that I am not kicking up sand any more. After all of the drama I decided to just forget it and just take a chill pill.

So that was my tiring day of non-stop craziness and madness. Well I think all of the problems are solved except for what to do with the extra box of sand.
